You can deposit checks safely and securely using the Mobile App and the camera on your phone.
Deposits completed after 4:00 p.m. will show on the next business day.
Enrolling for Mobile Deposit is easy and free
- Log on to Mobile Banking
- Tap Menu then select Mobile Deposits
- Select Registration
- Enter name, email address and cell phone number
Take a picture - Deposit a check
- Endorse your check - include your signature and the words “FNB Steeleville Mobile Deposit Only”
- Log in to the Mobile App
- Tap Menu then select Mobile Deposits
- Select New Deposit
- Select deposit account
- Enter deposit amount
- Take picture of front and back of the check to capture image
- Review and Submit
Best Practices for a Successful Mobile Deposit
- Verify check is properly filled out and is legible
- Endorse the check and write “FNB Steeleville Mobile Deposit Only” before taking pictures
- For clearer pictures, place the check on a dark, no-reflective surface and flatten out the check
- Make sure the entire check is displayed in the camera frame
- Retake the picture if the images are blurry or not legible
- Once confirmation is received from the Bank that the mobile deposit has been accepted, prominently mark the face of the check as “Void”, “Electronically Presented” or otherwise render it incapable of further transmission, deposit or representment
- Retain the check for at least 7 calendar days from the date transmitted. Then securely destroy the check by shredding or other means
